I’ve been using a digital camera I received as a gift in 2006 to take the photos I use here each week even though I FINALLY joined the rest of the world and got an iPhone in March. Why? Because I knew how to upload photos from my camera to my laptop and – though the photos weren’t amazing – they were getting the job done.
This week in addition to Cameron and Stephen’s normal donation pickups, we received TWO 24’ box trucks FULL (seriously, the trucks were completely full from front to back and from top to bottom) of showroom furniture (and pillows and cushions!) from the Merchandise Mart and as amazing and fantastic as that was – it DID create a bit of a dilemma regarding where to put it all which resulted in me staying late at the store helping John (our warehouse manager) – which I was happy to do.
When I realized John and I (and a friend of John’s who made the mistake of stopping by and was immediately put to work – ha!) wouldn’t finish until after 5 pm and my camera was sitting at my desk and the thought of going to the office and getting it and then turning around and coming back to the store to take photos versus putting on my big girl pants and using my phone to take photos (which, of course, I had with me) – it was an easy decision to make. Big girl pants it was!
And you know what? I figured out how to upload photos from my phone to my laptop (it was embarrassingly easy) and the rest is, as they say, history! Who says an old dog can’t learn new tricks! Haha!
So, what follows are fabulous photos of some super amazing furniture which we currently have in our inventory. Remember the Furniture Gallery is another online resource for you (and Alyssa, who takes photos for that, has been using her phone forever – but she’s young so what can I say?!).

So, what do you think, dear reader – are the photos better? Have you ever been slow to embrace new technology and then did and realized it was super easy and wondered why you resisted in the first place? Please tell me I’m not the only one!
