Good morning! Welcome to the Jubilee Furniture blog where each week I (Susan Galbraith – I handle the donation side of things) show you some of our current inventory (I try to pick and choose furniture I haven’t shown you previously). My goal is to have these weekly posts up by 9 am on Thursday. You’ll notice I provide lively commentary in addition to giving you the price (just trying to be transparent ‘cause it is USED furniture).
Another source for viewing our inventory online is the Furniture Gallery (especially ideal if you like fewer words with your photos).
Ready? Let’s go!
gorgeous sofa and chaise from Bloomingdale’s. The upholstery is soft and touchable and I couldn’t find a spot anywhere! Priced $295
nice sofa – needs to be cleaned – priced $55
new from the Merchandise Mart – a taller table (with umbrella hole) and two chairs. Beautiful set! Priced $895
this is an amazing Thomasville rattan table with glass top and four chairs (the chairs have cane seats and I checked every seat and none of the caning is damaged or broken). The design on both the table and chairs is out of this world! I could see no damage anywhere! Priced $595
two sweet side chairs both in excellent condition. Priced $75 each
pristine Ashley Furniture table with one leaf and four chairs – priced $285! You could easily add another four chairs to this table – no problem (photo shown has the leaf in the table)
very nice Henredon loveseat for $295; matching sofa for $395
another new-to-us-from–the-Merchandise-Mart taller table with two chairs – also priced $895 (table also has an umbrella hole)
two muted floral side chairs – priced $65 each. The upholstery is meant to look faded but then the seat cushions are REALLY faded (just FYI)
Okay – here are my favorite pieces currently in the store. They’re a gray velour (feels different – to me – than velvet) and I couldn’t find a manufacturer but they’re fabulous! The problem is the fabric is worn in many places. Super comfortable AND stylish! The sofa is priced $85; matching chairs are $45 each (two stools in last photo are $15 each and they’re very nice)
further back in the same section of the store as the pieces I just showed you is this TWO piece sofa (when the two pieces are pushed together – as in this photo – it’s an extra long sofa, but you could arrange in a number of different ways). Same gray velour-like upholstery. Some of the same wear issues (though after I took this photo I flipped over that really worn seat cushion and it looks MUCH better on the other side). Obviously, a bit of a different style with a much higher back. Priced $115 for the two pieces
this two piece Room & Board sofa/chaise sits very low to the ground (the price tag says it’s missing legs but there are short, chucky legs on the pieces it’s just they’re not the correct height [unless you want a piece where small children can tumble on it and are so close to the ground they shouldn’t get hurt]). Last photo is trying to show you where there is a small fabric tear. Could use a cleaning (unless going to use for small children as noted a couple of sentences ago – then don’t bother. It’s not that bad). Priced $295
man alive! This Richardson Bros. oak table comes with four leaves, table pads and eight chairs (two with arms) and is in like-new condition! Gorgeous! Priced $415
cool sofa/futon (back and ends fold down to become a bed) in white leather (some of the seat leather is distressed). Priced $135
blue leather loveseat has two separate recliners! AND can be taken apart into two pieces to make it easier to move! Wow! In excellent condition. Priced $185
lovely American Drew desk with finished front. Very good condition. Priced $85
I love the simplicity of this king size metal headboard, footboard and side rails. Super attractive and in great condition! Priced $125
wonderful, solid, well built set of bunk beds! No safety rail for the bottom bunk and no ladder (you scramble up either end). Comes with two bunky board (which replace box springs). Twin size mattresses sold separately. Priced $195 (the pieces you see in the corner of the second photo are for a separate twin bed)
lovely queen size sleigh bed (wood could use some touch up here and there). Priced $135. One of our never-been-used queen size mattresses in photo is priced $350 (box spring is used and I’m not sure the price. Sorry!)
FANTASTIC Eastlake platform rocker (legs are stationary, chair rocks back and forth) – priced $195
GORGEOUS two piece Century retro china cabinet. I love that this piece isn’t as tall as a lot of china cabinets are! Priced $395 (excellent condition though I did notice some veneer on one of the back legs is chipped of)
I’ll end by letting you know of a children’s clothing and equipment resale happening at St. Isidore School this Friday and Saturday (433 West Army Trail Road in Bloomingdale). You can shop – WITHOUT children – on Friday from 6:30 to 9 pm and Saturday (children welcome but NO strollers) from 9 am to 12:30 pm. Here’s the flyer which provides more information.
I hope you’ve been enjoying the gorgeous weather we’ve been having lately, dear reader! See you next week!
